The brand name of our day care service is Tenon. It is derived from the traditional Japanese building techniques of kumiki and mortise and tenon joints. Tenon is a type of joint that joins two wooden parts. In the past, when there were no nails or screws, Japanese woodworking has supported buildings simply and strongly for thousands of years, mainly by joining the unevenness of wood. We believe that nursing care services are like kumiki in a sense. There are various unevennesses physically, mentally, and in abilities between the service recipients and providers, between users and their families, and between us staff members. However, we are the same human beings, and if we can utilize those unevennesses well like kumiki and connect with each other without any gaps by adjusting the shape, we can support each other.
Like the majority of the more than 50,000 day care centers (day services) nationwide, our business scale is still small and our name recognition is still low. One of our strengths is that, despite the fact that about 50% of the industry is unprofitable and 70% is in financial difficulty, all of our group's stores are profitable, and we are continually expanding our business through new store openings and M&A, as well as the growth potential of existing stores. As we are in the process of breaking away from private management and transforming into an organized management, there are many opportunities for growth for our core staff. We are also making more business partnerships with overseas companies, and we hope that you will have the opportunity to play an active role as a bridge between Japan and overseas nursing care services in the future.
